Hi,
I have found your physics notes so helpful! Thank you so much for putting them online. I just wanted to ask if you could also make notes for the astrophysics option topic?
Thanks :)
I'd love to be able to add astrophysics, but I've never taught the option so the notes would be pretty lousy. Sorry.
Hi,
thank you for the notes!! it's all very helpful when I'm studying for the exams… which is in two weeks :/ But I was also wondering if this is on par with the old curriculum cause the numbers don't match up all the time.
Yep yep. This is all based on the old curriculum. I haven't taught IB physics in a while so I haven't update the syllabus details, but most of the content should still be relevant.

Thank you, So very much.
This Whole site helped me with Studying Electrical circuts just in time for my Topic 5 test.
Quick Question:
Is this directly from the IB SL Physics Text book?
Some the stuff is pretty close to textbooks but in general the site is my thoughts. The outline above is straight from an old IB syllabus.
-HS
can you please add notes for electromagnetic waves (option)?
Can you also have notes on energy, power and climate change and topics of SL options?
I'm no longer teaching IB physics so unless another teacher starts adding to the site it's not going grow… Sorry.
oh and HS, if you were a real teacher you would understand that students don't really learn by memorizing shitty notes but by actually FUCKING APPLYING THE SHIT. You suck as a teacher. everyone can SMD. I'M OUT!!!!!!
That's actually the very reason I no longer teach IB physics. You can get a good score by memorizing and not learning. Getting a good IB score is not about learning. Learning is about doing. IB is about cramming facts and repeating them on a test. Proof is in the number of hours devoted to kinematics vs climate change. There is no time to actually learn.
Totally with you there.
If you don't like the notes don't read them. Pretty sure your browser has a back button.
I made these notes for me. I shared them because I was asked to. But thanks for sharing your outrage and thoughts on modern pedagogy. Sorry that you're so angry you have rant on random sites you don't like. Go ask your mom for a hug.
hank… sorry for being really hard on you… i was in a really bad mood. and things did not come out the way they should. I just find it so unfortunate that kids are so focused on a number that at they end, they have learned nothing. however I'm extremely sorry for attacking you personally. Peace!
It's all good. I really wasn't joking. The reason I don't teach IB anymore is largely exactly what you're talking about. Modern education is largely just "training monkeys" to pass tests.
We measure the results of tests rather than the results of our education system. We confuse an intermediate step (testing) with the final product (people).
This is also why I will be teaching Video Game Design next year! Monkeys can't make good games and making games is more fun that memorizing…
Here's a few blog posts (by me) on the same issue. I truly think the IBDP has lost its way.
